So we started by employing a local builder who lived just 200 yrds away, to carry out some works that would have difficult to carry out without heavy building equipment.
1...Dig out the floor, lay down a DPC and put in a concrete sub-floor.
2...Lay in water piping to the planned kitchen area.
3...Put in a septic tank and lay piping into the planned ground floor WC.
4...Put in 4 dormer windows to service 3 bedrooms and bathroom.
These are the only items that we have had carried out by trademen.
All the rest is our own work....for better or for worse!!!
